Infant Baptism

As you consider scheduling your baptism at Holy Rosary Church, please review the following requirements for baptism. It is important for both you and us to be on the same page so that you are fully informed as you make your decision. I hope this initial information is helpful to you as you prepare for this great sacrament.

Fr. Peter Do, Pastor

  • The person (or the infant’s parents) should be:

    • registered members of the parish,

    • attending Mass here every Sunday,

    • and contributing to the support of Holy Rosary Church,

    • for the past six (6) months.

  • The godparent(s) chosen must meet all of the requirements of the Universal Catholic Church for baptismal sponsors (see baptism packet). These requirements are set by Catholic Church law and are not negotiable.

  • The godparent(s) chosen must complete the “Sacramental Sponsor Form” (see baptism packet) and have it signed by their parish pastor.

  • If the parents or godparents have not attended baptism preparation in the last 5-7 years, they will meet with one of our parish priests for instruction and preparation prior to scheduling the baptism ceremony.

Baptisms are scheduled on Saturdays at 11 AM.

To schedule baptism preparation, call the church office or email office@holyrosarypdx.org. Please review the baptism packet before scheduling.

Youth Baptism

Children who have attained the age of reason (generally at seven years old) need to be catechized before Baptism. Please reach out to the Director of Religious Education to register for RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children).
