The Holy Rosary Conference is a member of the Portland Council of St. Vincent de Paul. A lay Catholic nonprofit organization, since 1833 the world-wide St. Vincent de Paul Society has offered assistance to families and individuals in need, usually in the form of food, clothing and emergency housing. Its goal is not only to provide emergency relief, but to break the cycle of homelessness while respecting the dignity of the person.
Training takes place primarily at the Conference level, with funding subsidized though the generosity of Holy Rosary parishioner’s gifts and specially designated offering envelopes. Meetings, held monthly in Siena Hall, are not only practical, but spiritual, as well; prayer and reflection are indispensable elements to charity (“caritas”) if one is to live the Vincentian vocation faithfully.
If you are interested in learning more about St. Vincent de Paul and the work of our chapter, please leave your name and number with the parish secretary and you will be contacted.
