True to the spirit of Vatican II, Gregorian chant has been given “pride of place” at the Sunday 11 a.m. Mass. A trained schola, established in 1991when incoming pastor Fr. Anthoy Patalano returned Dean Applegate to his position as Director of Music, sings the Propers and leads the congregation in the sung Ordinary of the Mass. The schola also sings motets chosen from the vast repertoire of Catholic sacred music, arguably one of the greatest treasuries of the universal Church.
