The Church and the world have a great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go and meet him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease.
-Pope John Paul II
In His Eucharistic presence, Christ remains under signs that communicate and express the love that gave its very life for our sake. Following the weekday noon Mass until 7:30 p.m. in the evening, Holy Rosary is open for Eucharistic Adoration. Your willingness to choose an hour, just one hour dedicated to adoration, is a commitment in faith that can literally change your life. You do not need to come with a litany of prayers, but do bring an open and contrite heart. Adoration is a time of silence, that rich and life-giving silence of Christ’s presence. Take time from the noise of your life to spend a quiet hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament; “be still”, and know that He is God. Could you not watch with him one brief hour?
Perhaps you’re unable to keep a regular holy hour, but have sufficient flexibility in your schedule to volunteer as a substitute when a regularly assigned adorer needs a replacement. If that is the case, or if you want to volunteer one hour a week, we urge you to contact the parish office or call 503 234-7811.
Holy Rosary also sets aside a special hour for Youth Adoration. Parish young people gather in the Church for an hour of prayer and silent adoration, followed by refreshments and a lively social hour in Siena Hall. Watch the bulletin and website for upcoming 2010-11 Youth Adoration dates and times.
