To Pray, to Bless, and to Preach
Members of the Dominican community share this simple motto, which underscores the special charism of the “Order of Preachers.” Community life is central to this vocation, and at Holy Rosary we are fortunate not only to have a Dominican pastor, but a Dominican priory, as well. Many of the friars at Holy Rosary we know and encounter regularly: at Mass, in the confessional, at coffee and donut socials, or in the office. Others are seen less frequently, but their presence among us is no less vital. After many fruitful years in the vineyard of the Lord, they are now fully or semi-retired. Though we may not reap the benefits of their teaching or preaching as other parishes have in the past, their prayerful presence continues to bless us, and strengthens the ties of communal living essential to the Dominican spirit.
In addition to Fr. Francis Le, Pastor, and Fr. Vincent Kelber, Parochial Vicar and Sub-Prior, the Dominican Community at Holy Rosary includes Fr. Gerald Buckley, Prior; Fr. Paul Duffner, retired; and Fr. Brian Mullady. To learn more about the Dominican Order, visit the website of the Western Dominican Province at www.opwest.org.
When you gather with your family for evening prayers, remember our Dominican family here at the parish, and thank God for their lives of prayer, contemplation, study, preaching. . .and community.
