DOMINICAN FORUM: The Dominican Forum engages critical issues of church and society in light of faith and scholarship. All lectures, seminars, and workshops offered as part of this series are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm in Siena Hall.
•Preparing for Lent: How to Examine your Conscience Well Should your conscience always be your guide? On the evening of Tuesday, February 7th, Fr. Brian Mullady will help us answer this question. It promises to be thought-provoking evening; we hope many will be able to attend, as time has a way of speeding by, and soon it will be February 22nd, Ash Wednesday. Take advantage of this timely opportunity to prepare your hearts and minds for this beautiful season of repentance and prayer.
• Spousal Love: The Catholic perspective on True Love Spousal Love:
The Catholic Perspective on True Love Join us this Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14th, when Fr. Brian Mullady returns to The Dominican Forum to speak on true and abiding love. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we will provide coffee and special “sweets for your sweet”; why don’t you bring your sweetheart, and make it a date? Singles also will find this clarification on the meaning of love an inspiring presentation. Come one, come all!

Family Ballroom Dance Classes: Sunday night dance lessons continue in Siena Hall starting at 6:30 pm with practice until 9:00 pm. Waltz, Nightclub 2-Step, and East Coast Swing are taught by Steve Carruthers & Ariel Kaplan. $4/person/week. No class on “Superbowl Sunday” – Feb 5th. No class Feb. 12th. Upcoming class dates: Feb 19th & 26th.
Father/Daughter Dance on February 12th at 6:30 P.M. Semi formal/dressy dress. All are invited. Refreshments will be served.
Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story will be shown on Saturday, Feb 18th at 6:30 pm in Siena Hall. Based on the memoirs of Dr. Carson who overcame enormous obstacles to study medicine and save lives at Johns Hopkins Hospital. This film is suitable for teenage and older. Admission is free and the high school seniors will be serving lemonade and popcorn and accepting donations for the parish graduation festivities. After the movie, join us for ice cream sundaes and a discussion of the film.
Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper – February 21 - 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Bring your sweets and treats to share and enjoy a pancake supper with your family in Siena Hall at Holy Rosary. Graduating high school seniors will prepare and serve this dinner for the parish. A free will donation will be taken to support the parish graduation festivities. Fatima Day Retreat Saturday, February 4: Fr. Vincent Kelber, OP will lead a Day of Recollection on the subject of “Mother of Divine Grace: Imitating the Virtues of God” on First Saturday. The day will begin with the 7:30 AM Rosary in the Church and 8:00 AM Mass. A continental breakfast will be served in Siena Hall before Father begins the presentations. The day will include a video talk by Doug Barry of Radix and conclude with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Benediction at 3:00 PM. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this free day of preparation for Lent.
Snow Day on Mt. Hood: Come have a fun day at Mt. Hood with your fellow high schoolers. All HS students of the parish are invited to join in a snow day on Saturday, Feb. 4th. Please bring a sack lunch and sleds, inner tubes, discs, etc., that you would like to share. Pancake Breakfast for Precious Children: A breakfast Benefit for Precious Children of Portland will be held on Sunday, February 12, after the 7, 9, and 11:00 Masses. Please come and enjoy some breakfast, and support the cause of Purity and Life! Proceeds will go towards the 40 Days for Life campaigns and events surrounding life issues around the city.
